Professional Highlights:
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Residence in VA. I have over 5 years of clinical experience in individual outpatient psychotherapy, in-patient acute crisis stabilization, and college counseling.
Research:
My research interests include relational interventions for victims of interpersonal violence. I am also interested in crisis and trauma interventions, and global mental health initiatives particularly for individuals in low and middle-income groups and countries. Additionally I have researched on the experiences of international students in counselor training programs.
Personal Highlights:
I grew up in a small farming town in Kenya, near the serene Lake Nakuru, known for its vibrant pink flamingos. This is where my love for the outdoors took root, and now I find joy in hiking, long walks, and bike rides. When I’m not exploring nature, I cherish the quiet moments spent with a good book or enjoying quality time with family and friends.
